Entain acquired pricing and analytics firm Angstrom Sports

Entain’s acquisition of Angstrom Sports for up to $263 million has raised questions due to Angstrom’s relatively low annual revenues. However, the investment is driven by several factors. The competitive nature of the US sports betting market, particularly in the Single Game Parlay (SGP) segment, makes Angstrom’s pricing and analytics expertise valuable. Macau Expected to Achieve Highest Monthly Gaming Revenue Since Pandemic Onset

Despite typhoon warnings impacting daily run-rates, Macau is on track to achieve the highest monthly gross gaming revenue (GGR) in July since the beginning of the COVID-19 pandemic. Investment bank JP Morgan estimates that GGR for the first 16 days of July reached MOP$8.25 billion (US$1.03 billion), surpassing the Q2 average. While the typhoon may have slowed daily GGR to around MOP$493 million (US$61 million) recently, analysts expect July to surpass MOP$16 billion (US$1.99 billion) in total GGR, indicating a 90%+ recovery in mass GGR compared to pre-COVID levels. JP Morgan also predicts that Macau’s concessionaires will report all-time high margins for the June 2023 quarter, with Sands China leading the way in its upcoming Q2 results announcement.

In Q2, B2B revenue, which includes Betsson’s partnership with Turkish-facing Realm based in Malta, accounted for approximately 27% of the expected revenues, ranging from €235.5 million to €237.5 million. This is a notable increase compared to 17% in the same period last year. Furthermore, revenues from the CEE region and central Asia represented 43% of the total revenues or approximately €102 million. This is a significant rise from the 33% share seen in Q2 of the previous year. However, revenues from Norway, where Betsson has faced regulatory pressure due to perceived […]
