DraftKings Launches 24/7 TV Service On Samsung TV

DraftKings has partnered with Samsung to launch DraftKings Network, a 24/7 free ad-supported TV service (FAST) channel, available on Samsung TV Plus. This makes DraftKings the first US sportsbook to launch such a channel, which aims to provide programming for both sports fans and sports bettors. Among the featured presenters on the network are industry professionals such as NFL player Andrew Hawkins, NBA analyst Amin El Hassan, Mike Golic Jr, Mitch Moss, Pauly Howard, and Jessica Smetana. DraftKings’ programming will also be available on other platforms such as iHeart Radio, Spotify, Apple Podcasts, YouTube, and Twitch. The DraftKings Network will feature a scrolling ticker with up-to-the-minute scores, betting odds, and a DraftKings QR code.

Detroit Casinos Post $110 Million In April Revenue

Detroit’s three casinos reported under $110 million in revenue in April, down 8% from a year ago, partly due to a $2.6 million payout from a sports betting parlay win. The casinos paid $69,237 in taxes to the state and $84,624 in taxes to the city based on retail sports betting revenue. Table games and slots generated $109.6 million, while retail sports betting produced $120,350. MGM Grand Detroit led with a 46% market share, followed by MotorCity Casino’s 30% and Hollywood Casino at Greektown’s 24%. Revenue from table games and slots was down 6.2% YoY, but gaming revenue was up 6.3% YoY at Hollywood Casino at Greektown. FanDuel Posts Positive Q1 Numbers

FanDuel reported strong results in the first quarter of 2021, with average monthly players growing by 46% to 3.4 million, and revenue jumping 112% to $1.1 billion. FanDuel’s retention rates were praised by Flutter CEO Peter Jackson as contributing to monthly player growth, which in turn helped to increase market share in both sports betting and online gaming. FanDuel reported a 7% net revenue margin in the quarter and remains confident of reaching the 12% margin it has guided toward for 2025. FanDuel plans to continue adding customers as long as the cost to acquire them and the lifetime value dynamics remain strong. FanDuel also hopes to acquire more customers through its horse racing app, which is available in 33 states.
