Circa Sports Illinois Sets Timeline For Sportsbook Launch

Circa Sports, a Las Vegas-based sportsbook founded by Derek Stevens in 2019, is awaiting full operation approval in Illinois after applying for a Management Services Provider license in May 2022. However, the company has announced a partnership with Full House Resorts Inc. to open a Circa Sportsbook in the near future at The Temporary by American Place, a state-of-the-art casino and resort in Waukegan. Circa Sports is also planning to launch its online sportsbook in Q3 of 2023, pending final legislative approval. DC Lottery’s GamBetDC Sees Increase in Sports Betting Handle in March

The DC Lottery’s sports betting platform, GamBetDC, saw an increase in sports betting handle from $5.7 million in February to $6.5 million in March, resulting in over $860,000 in gaming revenue for the month. This is also an improvement from the $6.2 million generated in March 2022. The Men’s and Women’s NCAA Tournaments played a significant role in this increase. Year-to-date, GamBetDC has generated over $41 million in handle off of 1,310,382 bets, resulting in roughly $4.8 million in revenue. However, compared to FY 2022, GamBetDC has taken one step forward and two steps back, with a decrease in amount played and amount won.
